Description

This was inspired by a Painted Lady butterfly migration that occurred in Southern California.
A dear friend was hoping to watch butterflies develop on her porch. After they were eaten one by one, her niece got her painted Lady caterpillars to raise. It was such an emotional journey for her, especially losing her husband the year prior. I was so touched that I decided to raise them myself and eventually paint this beautiful butterfly.
